For these shows, the “Festival Style” open entry and seating procedures are in effect with the same regulations as those in any other venue. The Jazz Cruise lineups are comprised of nearly 100 of the very top jazz musicians in the world. Over the years, several musicians have become mainstays of the cruise and return nearly every year. Another large group of musicians are frequent, though not perennial participants, and, whenever possible The Jazz Cruise features a musician who is either new on the scene or simply new to the cruise. This combination of musicians creates excitement and enthusiasm, while maintaining a solid base upon which the aura of the cruise is built. With both The Smooth Jazz Cruise ‘25.1 & ‘25.2 sailing several months from now, there will be cancellations creating availability in categories currently marked JOIN WAITLIST.

Featured in nearly 200 recordings – including 16 Grammy® Award-winning titles – with the likes of Natalie Cole, Barbra Streisand, Mel Torme and Herb Ellis, Jeff also teaches, arranges, and composes for the drums. Mentored by legends such as Oscar Peterson and Ray Brown, Jeff in turn has been a teacher and inspiration to multiple generations of young musicians. He began playing trumpet at 11 but didn’t consider music as a career until college. While studying for a business degree at the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Duane joined the university’s jazz band. He jumpstarted himself into opportunities to play with jazz luminaries Stanley Turrentine, Shirley Scott, Charles Fambrough and Clark Terry.
The musicians themselves call the program “Straight-Ahead Jazz Heaven”. The Jazz Cruise knows him best as the most influential person in the history and development of the program. From the start (2001), Houston has been the heart and soul of the cruise, offering his music in a style that makes everyone happy.

Starting on February 15, 2022, Open Booking starts for The Jazz Cruise ’23. When in port, lectures and other events are planned for the early part of the day and the music typically starts around 4 pm. Daytime music shows may be presented in any of the music venues (Celebrity Theatre, Rendezvous Lounge or Sky Lounge). Special shows may also be seen and heard in The Cosmopolitan Restaurant, the main dining room of the ship, which converts brilliantly into a cabaret-style music venue.
Vacancies are offered exclusively to guests on the WAITLIST in the order of their enrollment. The sooner you join the WAITLIST, the greater your chance of sailing in ’25. Guests are welcome to carry bottled water, snacks, etc onboard the ship. Guests 21+ are allowed to carry up to 1 bottle of wine per person. His brothers are celebrated trombonist Robin Eubanks and guitarist Kevin Eubanks, with whom he’ll perform on The Jazz Cruise. As you enter Port Everglades cruise terminal, you will see signage that will direct you to the Celebrity Cruise Terminal location. These signs are like the arrival and departure signage you see at airports. When you arrive at the Celebrity Terminal, you will check your luggage with the ship porters, make sure that you have attached your Celebrity luggage tags (available to print, during online check-in). The porters will have additional luggage tags available for your use. Once you give the porter your luggage you will not have access to it until it has gone through TSA-style security and been delivered to your stateroom. These benchmarks of excellence were cultivated by Anita E. Berry, founder of The Jazz Cruise, during her participation in cruise line sponsored jazz cruise programs during the 1980’s and 1990’s.
Trivia contests, Name That Tune events and various dancing events are plentiful during the week. The Houston Person Dance Party is one of the great events of the Cruise.
